キツネが主人公の名作ADVの続編が“もふもふ感”UPで登場。「Spirit of the North 2」，2025年5月8日に発売決定

　イギリスのインディーパブリッシャ・Silver Lining Interactiveは，アクションアドベンチャー「Spirit of the North 2」を2025年5月8日に発売すると発表した。対応プラットフォームはPC（Steam），PlayStation 5，Xbox Series X|S^※。

　本作は，アメリカの独立系スタジオInfuse Studioの開発による「Spirit of the North」の続編だ。2020年リリースされた第1作は，言葉に頼らない没入感の高いストーリーテリングや美しい自然描写などが高く評価され，Steamでは「すべてのレビュー」で「非常に好評」の評価を獲得（2025年4月1日12：00時点）。そんな名作の続編が，5年の歳月を経てついに登場する。


　主人公は引き続き，北欧の幻想的な風景を駆け回るキツネだ。今作では新たに知性を備えたカラスの相棒が登場し，キツネとカラスのコンビによる協力アクションで冒険はさらに奥深く，ドラマチックなものへと進化しているという。


　プレイヤーの目的は，闇のシャーマン・グリムニールによって堕落させられた守護者（ガーディアン）たちを浄化し，世界に平穏を取り戻すこと。雪に覆われた山々や苔むした墳墓，古代の遺跡など，神秘に満ちた北欧の地を旅しながら，忘れ去られた伝説と魔法の秘密に触れていく。


　Unreal Engine 5を採用したことで，前作以上に自然表現や光の演出は格段に進化。北方諸島を思わせる風景の美しさはもちろん，プレイヤーキャラクターであるキツネの“もふもふ感”もアップしている。さらに今作では，キツネの顔立ちやしっぽのボリューム感，もふもふ具合などをプレイヤー好みにカスタマイズできる。相棒のカラスの外見も設定可能だ。

　国内向けにはPS5のパッケージ版のリリースも予定されており，開発者サイン入りブックレットやアートカード，ピンズなどが同梱された限定版「Signature Edition」も販売される。日本からもSilver Lining公式通販サイトのSilver Lining Direct（リンク）にて購入可能で，日本円での決済にも対応している。

　なお前作は「きたのたましい」という邦題で親しまれた「Spirit of the North」だが，本作は英語タイトルに統一されるとのこと。

　発売日の発表に合わせて最新トレイラーも公開されている。同トレイラーでは，その進化したビジュアルでキツネとカラスの絆を感じられるシーンの数々やカスタマイズ要素などを確認できる。幻想的な世界観と物語，そしてモフモフ感に興味を持った人はチェックしておこう。
