「シャドウ・オブ・モルドール」の最終章となるDLC「The Bright Lord」では，ケレブリンボールとサウロンが“一つの指輪”を巡って激突

　Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainmentは，「Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor」（PC / PS4 / PS3 / Xbox One / Xbox 360。邦題：シャドウ・オブ・モルドール）の最後となるDLC「The Bright Lord」の制作を，海外メディアGamespotでアナウンスした。


　「The Bright Lord」で描かれるのは，サウロンに騙される形で「一つの指輪」と「力の指輪」を制作した宝飾細工師であり，エルフの戦士でもあるケレブリンボールだ。本編をプレイ済みならお馴染みのキャラクターだが，今回のDLCでは本編から数千年前の過去が舞台で，サウロンの野望を知ったケレブリンボールが指輪を奪って逃走を図り，その力でオーク軍をまとめながらサウロンと対峙するというキャンペーンが10ミッションにわたって描かれていくという。

　開発を行うMonolith Productionsは，「The Bright Lord」の開発にあたってアニメーション部分を新たに作成し直し，エルフらしく，力ではなく弓と機敏性を主体にしたケレブリンボールのアクションをしっかりと再現するとのこと。また，オークの酋長たちはLv25までに引き上げられており，より強力な武器や防具で武装するなど凶暴さが増している。「Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor」の特徴となっているネメシスシステムにもさらに調整が加えられるようだ。

　ケレブリンボールとサウロンが，それぞれにオーク軍を率いて激突する決戦シーンも描かれそうで，指輪物語のファンならぜひプレイすべきDLCになるりそう。配信日や日本でのリリースについてアナウンスされていないものの，続報に期待したいところだ。
